Health & Wellbeing

Additional Information

At Bridges, the health and wellbeing of our people is central to the way we work. We recognise that a safe and successful business is built not only on preventing accidents and incidents, but also on supporting the physical health, mental wellbeing and resilience of everyone who works with us.

Our approach to health and wellbeing is about creating a positive working environment where people feel supported, listened to and able to speak up when they need help. This includes promoting good occupational health, encouraging healthy working practices, managing workplace risks such as fatigue, stress, manual handling, noise, vibration and exposure to hazardous substances, and ensuring that wellbeing is considered as part of everyday planning and decision-making.

We also understand that mental health is just as important as physical health. Bridges has trained Mental Health First Aiders who are available to provide initial support, reassurance and signposting for anyone who may be experiencing difficulties. They are not there to judge or provide clinical advice, but to listen, support and help people access appropriate further help where needed.

Our health and wellbeing resources are provided to help employees, contractors and managers understand the support available, recognise early signs of concern, and take positive steps to protect themselves and others. Looking after our people is a shared responsibility, and we encourage everyone to contribute to a culture where health, wellbeing and respect are valued every day.
