The BHS HSI 33 Safety Handbook provides a clear and practical overview of the key health and safety expectations that apply across Bridges’ activities. It is intended to support employees, supervisors, managers, contractors and delivery partners by setting out essential safety information in a straightforward and accessible format.
The handbook brings together important guidance on safe working behaviours, personal responsibility, risk awareness, site standards, emergency arrangements, wellbeing and the practical controls required to help prevent harm. It reinforces the importance of planning work properly, following agreed procedures, using the correct protective equipment, challenging unsafe conditions and applying STOP Work Authority where necessary.
This document should be used as a day-to-day reference to help everyone understand their role in maintaining a safe, healthy and well-controlled working environment. It supports our wider SHEQ management arrangements and reflects our commitment to keeping our people, our customers, our partners and the public safe.
